In the beginning…

…inspiration came from an interest in the effect of unsettled memories and emotional conflict – the fear, uncertainty and apprehension that remain personal and guarded, and the consequences associated with facilitating the release of suppressed emotion.

Much of my work has a personal resonance but I have aimed to also addresses the common, yet difficult, issues of life, choosing photography and film to explore the relationship between memory and personal journeying; the transcendence between then and now, what was and what might be.

Whilst much of my work has been lens-based, I like to maintain a broad, eclectic pallet, and enjoy a mixed approach using paint, collage, and any other medium which offers a dynamic that promises to bring an idea to life.

I look forward to developing new ways of approaching the physical, mental and ethereal responses to the changing – and challenging – circumstances of life, and to continue the enjoyment of travelling with both paintbrush and camera.

Each piece is a journey.
